YMCA Playground Build

Have you been looking for an opportunity to bless your community,
get your hands dirty, and make friends while you're at it? 
Well we have the perfect opportunity for you
to do just that! 

On SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, Church on the Hill will partner with the Moreland Family YMCA to build a playground in ONE DAY!

In order to pull off the building of this neighborhood park, they need the help of 250 volunteers. The tools, supplies, and instructions will be given upon your arrival. All you have to do is register at the link below and show up the morning of October 28th ready to serve in any capacity you are able! 


Will there be food and drinks?
Yes.  Breakfast and lunch will be served.  There will be snacks and water available throughout the day.

Is there childcare?
Youth ages of 6 - 14 must remain in the Kids Zone under proper supervision.  There will be arts and crafts, games and other fun activities for them to do throughout the day.  They will be able to eat lunch and breakfast.

Is there an age restriction to volunteer?
Adults ages 18+ may work on any team and handle power tools.
Youth ages 14 – 17 may volunteer on site but they cannot enter the playground footprint or operate power tools.

Do I need to know how to use tools?
No.  There will be volunteers who will lead each volunteer area that will give you directions on what to do.  If you do have a strong skill set in using tools, please let us know if you would like to be a Team Leader.  We need 15 – 20 Team Leaders.

How many volunteers do you need?
250.  Please forward this link to your friends and family and ask them to come and make an impact.

How long will it take to build the playground?
We will start at 7:30am and end at 3:30pm.  You are not required to be there from start to finish.

Do I have to sign a photo release?
Yes.  When you sign in, you will sign off on a waiver.

Can I be a Team Leader?
Yes.  A Team Leader is a high energy person that will help to motivate their group throughout the day.  One that is willing to take the lead to ensure their assignment is getting done.  Inform Keith Vinson, or Leonda Kelley, you would like to be a Team Leader.

Can I sign up for a specific task?
No.  KaBoom has a unique way of dividing up the volunteers.  If you have limitations, please contact Keith Vinson, or Leonda Kelley, and let us know and we help position you in a volunteer role.


Do I need to bring my receipt?
Yes.  This will help us to know who has signed up upon arrival.

Is parking available?
Yes.  All parking is on site.  It will be helpful to car pool if you can.

Do I need to bring anything?
No.  All tools will be provided.  However, you are welcome to bring things such as a shovel, rake, ladder, post hole digger, cordless drills, or sledge hammer.  If you do bring them, write your name on it.
